Ayo: A Rain Tale is a social impact side-scrolling adventure platformer video game owned and developed by Inkline. As a passion project, it aims to shed light on humanitarian struggles through interactive gameplay.

The game addresses the challenging reality faced by girls and women in Sub-Saharan Africa who must fetch water daily, denying them opportunities for education. Ayo's trip symbolizes the struggles of many in communities without access to clean water.

Players embark on a perilous journey with Ayo to collect water for her family. They must overcome challenges and enemies while exploring the harsh environment of Sub-Saharan Africa, gaining skills and wisdom along the way.

The design and development process for this project took a holistic approach integrating game design and branding. Every decision was aligned with the game's unique concept and message, ensuring it achieved its objectives.

Launch Campaign & Feature

A comprehensive launch campaign was executed, spanning social media promotion, press coverage, and a feature on the Apple AppStore's "New Games We Love" list.

Fundraising Campaign

A fundraising campaign was initiated to build water wells in Mali, with a goal to raise $15,000 for 6 wells. The campaign exceeded it’s initial target, raising $18,000, which enabled the construction of 7 wells. This month-long fundraising effort aimed to provide safe access to clean water, ultimately improving the health, economic stability, and social well-being of communities in need.
